Terms of Service
1. Who this agreement is with
These terms are an agreement between you and Canburak Tümer (“I”, “me”), an individual in Berlin, Germany who develops and publishes reLapse. Contact: support@getrelapse.com; postal address in the Impressum.
They apply when you download, install or use the reLapse mobile app or this website. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
2. What reLapse is — and what it is not
reLapse is a self-tracking tool. It records when you tell it something happened and shows you the resulting frequencies, intervals and patterns.
It is not a medical device and not a health service. It does not diagnose or treat anything, nothing it displays is medical or clinical advice, and it is no substitute for a qualified professional. If a behaviour is causing you harm, please seek help; in an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
3. Licence
I grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use reLapse on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under the usage rules of the store you got it from. All other rights stay mine, including the reLapse name, logo and design.
You may not copy, sell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the app; reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it (§ 69e UrhG remains unaffected); remove proprietary notices; or use it to break the law or interfere with the security of any service it connects to.
4. Your data is yours
I claim no ownership of anything you record, and I cannot read it — it is encrypted on your device with a key I do not hold. How data is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
That also makes backups your responsibility. If you delete the app, lose the device or forget a backup passphrase, the data cannot be recovered by anyone. The app provides an encrypted export for exactly this reason.
5. No accounts
reLapse has no accounts, no sign-in and no password. A purchase is tied to whichever Apple ID or Google account is already signed into your device's App Store or Play Store — the same one that bought it restores it automatically, with no login step of its own. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 16 or the store's minimum age, whichever is higher.
You can erase everything reLapse holds on this device at any time in Settings, or via this page — which also explains why that does not touch a subscription.
6. reLapse Pro and subscription terms
The app is free to use with one tracked habit. reLapse Pro unlocks unlimited habits, the combined calendar, on-device pattern insights, opt-in pattern reminders, per-entry notes, encrypted backup and restore, and removes advertising.
6.1 Plans and price
| Plan | Length | Price | Renewal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro Monthly | 1 month | €3.99 per month | Auto-renewing |
| Pro Annual | 12 months, after a 14-day free trial | €19.99 per year (€1.67 per month) | Auto-renewing |
| Pro Lifetime | One-time purchase | €49.99 once | Does not renew |
Prices are shown in euro. Apple and Google set the actual price in your local currency and region, so the amount at checkout may differ. The price shown in the app at the moment of purchase is the one that applies, inclusive of VAT where applicable.
6.2 How auto-renewal works
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. There are direct links in Support.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not shorten the period you have already paid for — Pro stays active until that period ends.
6.3 Free trial
The annual plan includes a 14-day free trial for users who have not previously used it. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts into a paid annual subscription at the price shown. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription before the trial ends.
6.4 Lifetime access
“Lifetime” means a one-time purchase, no recurring charge, tied to the store account you bought it with, lasting as long as I operate reLapse and it remains available on that store. It is not a promise the app exists forever.
6.5 Refunds and your right of withdrawal
Purchases go through Apple or Google, so I cannot issue refunds myself — they handle them under their own policies, and Support explains how to ask.
Your statutory rights are unaffected. EU consumers generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content, which lapses once you expressly consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge losing it — what the store asks you to confirm at purchase. German statutory warranty rights also stand.
6.6 Changes to plans and prices
I may change prices or plan contents for future billing periods. You will be told in advance, and the platform will ask you to agree to a rise before it takes effect. If you do not agree, cancel before the next renewal.
7. Advertising in the free tier
The free tier is funded by static banners on the Home, Calendar and Recent screens. By using the free tier you accept that these banners are shown. They are never displayed while you are logging or during the Undo window, and no habit data is ever passed to the ad network. Pro removes advertising entirely.
8. Availability, changes and ending the agreement
I aim to keep the app working but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Core tracking works offline; buying, restoring or checking a subscription depends on the relevant store and on RevenueCat being reachable. I may add, change or withdraw features; if I withdraw a paid feature or discontinue the app during a period you have paid for, I will tell you and, where the law requires it, arrange a refund through the relevant store.
You may stop using reLapse at any time by deleting it. I may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms — for example by trying to circumvent purchase verification — giving notice where reasonable.
9. Warranty and liability
The app is provided with the statutory warranty for digital products under German law. Beyond that, and to the extent permitted by law, I give no further guarantee that it will be fit for a particular purpose or that its insights will be accurate or useful for you.
I am liable without limitation:
- for intent and gross negligence;
- for injury to life, body or health;
- under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz);
- to the extent I have given a guarantee.
For simple negligence I am liable only where I breach an obligation whose fulfilment is essential to performing this agreement and on which you may reasonably rely (a cardinal obligation), and then only for the foreseeable damage typical of this kind of contract. All further liability is excluded.
In particular, and within those limits, I am not liable for loss of data caused by you deleting the app, losing a device, or losing a backup passphrase, since the encryption design means I cannot recover it.
10. Apple-specific terms
Where you obtained reLapse from the App Store, the following also applies, as Apple requires:
- This agreement is between you and me only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability, failure to conform to legal requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- If a third party claims the app infringes their intellectual property rights, I, not Apple, am responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you.
- Questions, complaints or claims about the app go to support@getrelapse.com.
11. Google Play
Where you obtained reLapse from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for the app.
12. Governing law and disputes
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. As a consumer you keep the protection of mandatory provisions where you habitually reside, and the statutory rules on jurisdiction apply to you; otherwise the place of jurisdiction is Berlin. The European Commission's dispute platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr; I am neither obliged nor willing to take part in proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
13. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by updating the version and date above before they take effect. Continuing to use reLapse means you accept the new version. If you do not, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.
14. Severability
If any provision is or becomes invalid, the rest stays in force. The invalid provision is replaced by the statutory rule that comes closest to its commercial purpose.
